Mariel Fuentes

Mariel completed her architectural studies in 1998 at Universidad de Chile, and later completed a
Master´s Degree in Interior Design at Universidad de Salamanca in Spain.
She specializes Architectural Lighting design.

After working 11 years in other Studios she founded LDLuz – Lighting Design in 2016 and in 2021 she merged with Michela Mezzavilla, co-founding MMAS Lighting Design. Currently she is a member
of the Board of Director in IALD, international association of Lighting Design and Board Member of the Professional Association of Lighting Designers in Spain -APDI- and combines her work as an
independent Senior designer with teaching. She is a professor at UPC – Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, BAU- Centro Universitario de Diseño of Barcelona and IED Barcelona- Escola superior de Disseny.

Mariel has extensive local and international experience working in hospitality, restaurants, retail, exhibitions, and residential projects, among other typologies, all in collaboration with teams from multiple areas and disciplines.
